大型模具加工中心上使用的主轴必须达到进行粗加工、半精加工和高质量精加工的要求,而且作为一个参考标准,其能够实现的表面加工质量应该控制在2μm的水平。通常,对于模具闭合面和分型线部分的精加工十分重要,但在传统工艺下,许多模具制造商不得不采用手工抛光的方式,以弥补刀具加工精度不足的问题。因为,大型加工机床的造价昂贵,如果为此项工序购置多功能机床,显然是不切合实际的。
